After reading a recent review in 'Time Out' magazine slamming this place, i wanted to give some positive feedback on the food on offer at Ginkgo- which is rapidly becoming my favourite neighborhood joint. This place does bar food, and does it pretty well. Burgers and pizzas are great, some of the tapas items are excellent and the 'build your own mezze' platter is a great option as a starter or to snack on with drinks. Meals are decent value for money, and if I'm looking for a dining option in the area I will always go for Ginkgo over Cafe de la poste (my 2 cents on the vegetarian friendly options on offer there: 80 rmb is WAY too much for the tiny portions served up on their vegetarian plates!). Ginkgo does a really excellent brownie, and the brunch menu is also worth a try. The eggs florentine/benedict give those on offer at the Vineyard a run for it's money, and the museli yoghurt pot is delicious- a healthy option that I haven't noticed on other brunch menu's around town. Things will be even better if it ever warms up enough to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy some beijing sunshine with my blueberry pancakes.
