first of all, i'll have to state clearly that i've never signed a contract with new york new york, but i did spend a lot of time doing research and consult with them before i decide to have my wedding photography assigned to an other studio. yes, new york new york takes pretty photos, but to me, no matter who the couples are, they look identical on the photo samples, i mean the makeups, the lighting, the environment and the costumes; no personality at all.
secondly, be aware of the additional fee for purchasing your own photos back from them; around RMB 100/photo. it works like this: you sign a contract, on which there are terms regulate the number of photos you can get, like 40, 50 or any number. but it's limited. however, in the field, the photographer will take a lot more than that number. after that, it's the selection, where you decide which ones you want, that's a tough job to do. because it's hard to say good bye to those photos with you and your husband/wife on, and once you eliminated some of them, those films will be shred on site. you don't want that to happen? fine, pay extra money and buy them back.
