I went to Comptoirs de France for the first time last weekend (Dongzhimen branch) and came away pretty impressed.

My friend and I had their American breakfast. Although not cheap, the price wasn't outrageous, and it made for a huge meal that really hit the lazy-Sunday-brunch spot.

The toast was great (in a city where it's not easy to get great toast), the eggs were cooked just right, and the hash browns were light and non-oily. The only slight let down was the bacon, which was a little dry and tasteless. But that's a small quibble - on the whole the meal was very tasty and definitely worth the money.

Oh, and the coffee was great too!

Looking forward to checking out their sandwiches some time.
