American Cafe probably only deserves 3.5 stars, but there's no choice, so ok, four. The food here is pretty solid -- the Cobb salad is the best in town, and far less expensive than the one at Element Fresh. Like most Western restaurants though, stick with the classics -- when you start to wander into strange corners of the menu, food quality will decrease.

The big drawback here is the service. The place is never full and yet the staff always seems overworked. They are friendly and try hard, but for a place that isn't that big, it always seems to be too much. They also have a tendency to watch customers eat, to the point of staring. If I want that I'll go outside and squat with a bowl of noodles. Cobb salad's pretty good though, worth the trip.
