Hit or miss: Hummous yes, chicken kebab no.

Been a while since I tried Istanbul over on Xiushui Jie...it was deifnitely a hit-and-miss experience.

The hummous was great -- smooth and especially lemony. It came with chunky bread that was more italian in my mind than Turkish, but no matter, it was a good match for the hummous.

The chicken kebab served with rice and fries was not so good. The chicken meat was really overly marinated, making it a little bit too salty to enjoy. The rice, though nicely spiced with things like raisins and star anise, was not terribly fresh -- seemed like it might have been scooped out of a bowl leftover from a few nights ago.
