There's some decent rides (none death-defying really) but the real issue is, like every other amusement park I've visited in China, they cut corners by not turning on all the rides every day -- and you won't know until you show up which rides are on and which rides are off for the day.
It's a big park and it's a fun trip even to just wander around and ogle other tourists, and they usually have mini street performances on the hour that are played at ear-splitting volume and usually at least one features scantily-clad, child-inappropriate female dancers
The food is crappy. I'd pack something to eat.
Like most things in Beijing, the best way to go is to go an off-times ... unless you love the communal good feeling of stadning in a nice, hour long queue with strangers.
