Review of Arrow Factory
3

Arrow Factory is an innovative space that puts art where you least expect it - in a hutong surrounded by old-school vege and bing shops servicing local residents.

The exhibition quality varies. Some pieces have been very dull and/or naff, while others have been brilliant.

One of the most entertaining aspects of the place is watching the reaction of locals to whatever is on display. When I lived around the corner I remember one priceless installation that featured a projection onto the Arrow Factory shopfront of several hours in the life of the bing shop next door. So you had the real shop on one side, and a video version playing next door. The shop owners didn't know what to make of it.

Arrow Factory is a very small space so it's not worth going out of your way to look at, but if you live in the area, or are visiting nearby cafes like the Vineyard, it's worth swinging past to check out what they have in the window - and watching the reactions of passersby.
