If this is the best martini in Beijing, I'm moving to Ulan Bator.
This place was deserted at 9pm on their much lauded martini nights. No mood music. No glamourous crowd. No buzz. We braved the elements outside to try to make the best of the evening. Dead silence except for the freezing crickets.
Then the confusion over our drinks. My client was only interested in having one glass for his night cap. At the door the staff confirmed it was 50% off each drinks. The menu then states that you will have to get the minimun of two glass (for the price of one). Imagine my shock when we were billed twice for a drink we didn't want in the first place. To their credit, their manager resolved the matter to our satisfaction but not before leaving a bad taste that marred our experience.
My client could barely taste the vodka in his martini which was strangely served with olives AND lemon. My Hendricks was weaker than baby formula. I've had far better ones at Blue Frog and Fubar at half the price.
I don't intend to return to be cramped into that smoky dingy bar this winter. Not for these drinks.

Re: Disappointing
In 2006 and 2007, you couldn't find a seat at Q Bar!
It was THE place to see and be seen - and everyone raved about their mixed drinks and unobstructed views from the terrace.
Oh, have times sure changed
