Went there to try the famous "Buy one get one free". It appears that it is one hell of a cheater deal, looks like the manager fits very well in doing business with "Chinese characteristics".

Basicall you will get two burgers for 85 yuan, as it is the deal. However, the "free flow of water " [sic!] is charged 20 Yuan per person ! So you actually end up paying way more than you actually thought you would, since, of course, they do NOT advertise the fact that they charge water so much, and worst of all, they charge for every glass of water on your table !! Beware if you thought you could order two glass of water for 20 Yuan like I thought !! The "free flow of water" is only per glass Lol

Let me be clear, I don't mind paying for a service I estimate to be excellent, I understand the times are tough, the rent is high, bla bla, but even maison Boulud never charged me 20 Yuan a glass of Nongfu Spring water !!

Anyway, in my blacklist, for good (I guess my coronary system will thank me for that). I felt like 忽悠'ed when I saw this bill, and I won't forget to talk about it to all my acquaintances.

Sounds like you're pissed that you didn't clarify the free flow water is PER PERSON ahead of time. That is YOUR mistake.

Blu Frog on Mondays is not a bad deal and you definitely save money. You're just an idiot.
And don't expect good service on Mondays. They are packed on this day so be ready to continually remind servers of what you ordered and ask them to put a rush on it.

Indeed, I thought I was in a western restaurant and I certainly let my guard down against some tricky way of money extorsion that are widely used in most restaurants in the 'Jing. Perhaps I was an idiot, anyway the result is the same, and I hope by this review that nobody will fall into the same trap.

Again, the money loss is not the most important here considering the amount, it's just the feeling of drinking something you just don't expect to be charged for.

I do kind of agree... Most Chinese restaurants don't even charge for water, unless you specifically buy a bottle of 矿产水.

Though have to point out... "extortion", man, not "extorsion".

Agree with the post, sounds like a cash grab to me. If you present yourself as a "western" restaurant as Blue Frog certainly does then it's inexcusable. I assume that's why their burgers normally are 85 kuai. Part of that cost is to offset those pesky "western" things like free water. It's not like Blue Frog is losing money on these "special" nights anyway. Otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. It's just that their take from the other nights of the week on the burger is increased by 40+ RMB.
