Firstly the write up on this place needs to be updated. When you add in the 15% service charge a duck costs rmb 300. That said the duck was good but nothing special.
The other dishes are just the normal run of the mill stuff you can get in a million places all over town but with a 5 star hotel price tag. The menu makes a big deal about slow cooked pork etc but tastes the same as the stuff you can get for a tenth of the price anywhere.
Basically this place caters to hotel guests who don't want to leave the safe confines of their hotel and are claiming everything on expenses so don't really care they are paying over the odds.
As for the comments about contemporary design. This place has all the ambience of a hospital.
Service was as could be expected in a hotel restaurant.
