So the good news is that the food here is quite good. Decent BBQ, home made kimchi and some pretty clever Korean fusion dishes.
The downside is good f**cking luck getting a table. Iki is a classic Beijjng example of victim-of-its-own-success syndrome. Expect to wait at least 2 hours for a table and to find a staff that's largely indifferent, thanks to the business they do, regardless. If you don't pull up in at least a 7-series BMW, tossing around Shanxii coal-baron money, you can forget about getting attention or service. On the plus side, if you ARE one of the city's nouveau riche, you can look forward to the staff and management slobbering all over you.
Cash only and good luck getting a fa piao.
Even the Koreans I know have given up on Iki, as they don't have enough Guanxi to get a table or basic consideration from the staff.
Bloody shame, as the potential is huge. Instead it's become the restaurant equivalent of DLounge. Home to Beijjng's douchiest patrons...

Re: Good... Good luck getting a table, that is...
Make a booking if you want a table. Guanxi isn’t needed, just some forward planning.
The place is always busy because the food is good and the staff are attentive. They gave me a fapiao without question too....
They just opened a new venue in Sanlitun, and the Shuangjing venue has been a little quieter since.
