I was a little suspicious of all the glowing reviews from users with low post counts, but I haven't had Vietnamese food in a while so thought I may as well give it a try.
Overall I had a poor experience. In summary: flavourless food, enthusiastic but amateur service, and poor value for money.
The restaurant is hard to find (I rang the restaurant and the staff couldn't accurately describe how to get there), so here are the proper directions: if you are coming from the west, walk all the way down the hutong (it's the hutong with the Best Western on it) until you are about 50 metres from the end. Take the alley which goes off to the left. The restaurant is at the end of the alley.
The interior of the restaurant is very nice. It also has a very nice ambience.
We ordered the pork and prawn rolls (flavourless, bad peanut sauce), the banana prawn rolls (interesting but only tastes of banana), the chicken curry (poor quality chicken, nearly no vegetables, little taste), the stew (nice), the panna cotta (nice), vietnamese coffee (nice), and vietnamese lemon soda (nice).
The service was pretty bad. As I said above, they are enthusiastic (always refilling our water) and friendly, but they made some pretty bad mistakes. For example, I received my main course 30 minutes before my partner received hers. When it came to paying they attemped to charge our card three times, "not sure" if we will be triple charged. (We have since contacted the bank and were not triple charged.)
So overall for the amount of money it costs and the hassle it takes to get there, I don't think it is worth it.

Re: Not worth it
Isnt Beijing the capital of bad overpriced restaurants, why wonder anymore. Eating out is no fun anymore its getting worse and worse and worse, and we keep paying a bunch of amateurs tons of money for overpraised and just bad food.
