Review of Zajia Cafe and Bar
Funny that I came on here to write a negative review about this place and one already pops up on the side.
I came here expecting a good time given the calibre of events that this place holds, and so paid over the odds for my drink, obviously expecting it to be decent. But no, pretty sure it was fake, and when I tried to bring this up with who I think the owner was (long haired Chinese guy) he had a terrible/rude attitude about the whole thing that made me wish I'd never gone there in the first place.
I'll not be gracing this place with my custom again any time soon.

Dear "Geedo",
The guy who had "a terrible/rude attitude" to you probably was Arong, and yes, he is not used to be polite to people who are not polite at all.
BE polite and Respect people if you like people to be polite and respect you.
Thank you,
Ambra Corinti

Also FYI: If you buy A DRINK and try to make it last for several hours because you're a cheapskate, it isnt going to taste great.

Re: Fake Drinks & Rude Owner.
The place is the place. Just because you felt socially over matched doesn't mean you have to bad mouth. It is one of the last bastions of creative hedonism left in Gu Lou and I for one kow tow to all the owners (there's not just one). The man you are talking about does have a temper, but what do expect from a man that juggles the local gov, a hopping bar and a 3 year old son as well? I love and deeply respect the man actually, ever since he yelled at me for drinking a big bottle on the front steps. Why don't you just stick to Migas, that's a great place for you post Olympic yuppinistas.

Re: Fake Drinks & Rude Owner.
Thanks to Zajia for replying, but why do you automatically say that I was unpolite?? I did nothing wrong in the bar and don't think it justifies that kind of an attack.
The second response to my comment I won't even justify with an answer.
As for ErasmusTrout - You sound like a friendly and non judgmental individual! Just because I had a bad time in your favourite "edgy alternative bar" where you can discuss the latest hemp clothing fashions and talk about freeing Tibet without knowing anything about it, you claim that I am "socially over matched" and "should stick to Migas"? Nice one.
It might also blow your mind to learn that just because I didn't have a good experience in this bar doesn't mean that I am one of the 'unthinkably vulgar, lower class' San Li Tun goers you seem to claim such superiority over. Not that where you go out on a night should define you as a person anyway, unless you're a complete alcoholic.

Re: Fake Drinks & Rude Owner.
right, liked your reply. hate the "edgy" anything. you just caught him on a bad day. nothing said about the "lower class in san li" because i'm of the poor persuasion myself. just as an observation it seems you read into alot of things. the dangers of the daggers which are chinese eyes can manifest a certain psycho-analytical cynicism. if you want to give the place another try I'd be happy to buy you a beer (liquer in beijing is all fake, even migas) and sit you down with the man. like I said, the first time i was there he yelled at me 2, (for a good reason I might add) but after that I have grown to greatly respect him.
