Review of Pizza Saporita
4

After reading the blog on here about the 'worlds best pizza' I thought I had better check it out.

It is pretty easy to find just off the main Dongzhemen road about 5 minutes from the subway. The inside is small but cosy with seating for about ten, with a couple more tables outside.

I'm usually pretty critical about pizzas but the ones here are not bad. The margerita is tasy though the sauce could do with a bit of extra kick but is an absolute bargain at 10rmb a slice.

The lauded Forest Pizza was a bit of a let down. Firstly there is no tomato sauce, which just isnt cricket imo. Secondly the walnuts were pretty overpowering and I ended up picking them off. It was nice though, but just not what I look for in a pizza.

Its nice to find a place that isnt ripping people off for drinks, 6rmb for a coke perfectly acceptable when most places in the area charge around 20rmb a can (mentioning no names *koff*paddy o sheas and ganges*koff*).

Overall its a great little place, and something Dongzhemen really needed for a quick lunchtime bite. The pizza isn't mindblowing but the prices are spot on - 13 inch Margarita 36rmb!! - and being able to buy a couple of slices is a great choice to have.
