Review of Iki Barbecue
4

Iki's one of the places I always wish I could eat at more often, and last night when I finally made it there again, I was reminded why.

We got the thick-cut spicy marinated pork belly and it was delish. They cooked it to just the right juicy char (picking up the grilling when we got too into our conversation to flip the meat) and I appreciate how fresh and clean their lettuce is. Sauces are good (especially the thicker, spicy bean one) and there's the obligatory chunky sea salt.

And of course, it's hard to pass up their bibimbap, and even harder to pass up the mozzarella. It's completely unnecessary in bibimbap but how can you hate melty, stringy cheese in anything? (Is my American nationality showing?)

Also love the (complimentary) little shot of sour plum vinegar they serve at the end. Come to think of it, sometimes they also give a little pot of their pickled radish salad but we didn't get that this time ... Maybe for bigger parties? (There were only two of us.) It's nice that we can enjoy good solid Korean BBQ in Sanlitun. Used to feel like we had to go to Wudaokou or Wangjing for the good stuff.
