The best medium-sized venue for live music in the city by far. And this is coming from someone who's played live music in Beijing for 6 years. I would pass up a show at any of the big live houses to play at Temple or see a favorite band there. Their equipment is great, their staff cares about the sound, and now that Dada's opened downstairs there's a non-stop stream of tired clubbers coming into the bar to catch their breath, or kids coming early to warm up with a live show before heading down to dance to the DJs. From what I understand Temple and Dada arn't in cahoots, but this little bar-club-bar-club ecosystem they've acidentally created has pretty much planted a whole new party scene in Beijing over the last year. I've yet to have a bad time, drink, or burger there.
