This long distance bus route is well kept from foreigners in terms of location, knowledge of, and english signs, but this place is your best bet for regular long distance trips between beijing and elsewhere lasting 3-7 hours you can get to south Shandong province, Qingdao, and Xian. (just get some chinese destination written in chinese to show them if you cant speak chinese) It is cheap, only about 200 or less depending on when you buy and the buses leave regularly in 1-2 hour intervals. I took a regular bus weekly from a Jinan to Beijing to visit my girlfriend when we were dating as she was from Beijing and I worked in Jinan before coming here. You can sleep, relax and just enjoy the ride.
THIS is how the working class and normal chinese people travel so it is a great experience for those who want to experience down to earth china
