Review of Cafe Godiva
We went here expecting rich, decadent treats. Instead it was the same old cardboard chocolate we're used to in China.
I tried the 'gateux' (RMB70) - it tasted faintly of almonds, but that was the only flavour discernable, and the texture was dry and crumbly.
We also had the hot chocolate (RMB50). It is advertised as 'pure chocolate' - talk about false advertising. It was watery and tasteless. I've had better from my local Tesco back in the UK.
The saving grace was the excellent pistachio ice cream which came with the cake, but I came here for the chocolate treats, not the ice cream.
Very disappointed and I wish I'd read these reviews before wasting my money.
Avoid.
