Truly awful hutong bar

This place is a joke, and so are these glowing 5-star reviews. The drinks are small and sour and show no sense for building a cocktail or blending flavors. I will never be back to Mas for a cocktail. The food is even worse. Laughably bad. I challenge any of these 5-star reviewers to add some photos of the food. It'd be enough to encourage you to skip this place altogether.

i find most places like this,,, the reviews on here are planted for the most part and really, not true... even the western places, the service is usually very poor since it is still done with local ideals as to what service is all about... if something has 5 stars, then it is truly a big lie i have found....

Who hurt you? Mas is one of the only places that I can go where I know the alcohol is real and the owners/bartenders are honest. I mean 1 fucking star? How many bars have you been to here man? Where does this pain come from? 1 star being the lowest possible score and you think this place makes that grade? Are you absolutely fucking serious? You're a member since 2007 and Mas is a fucking 1 star? Jesus Christ dude, how have you lived here for 9 fucking years and decided that Mas is the worst place you've ever been to? What's your opinion on Big Pizza? Will you respond to this?

We went to Mas specifically for those false 5 star reviews and hated everything about the experience: the dirty sticky wobbly table, the lousy service, the sour cocktails and the shitty food—all for one ridiculously inflated price. What a complete waste of time and money. We started by ordering three different cocktails and a few food items (some of which they didn't have). Our foreign waiter didn't seem to know how to take a fucking order. He just smiled and nodded like a retard and proceeded to not bring our drinks until we reminded him about it 20 minutes later. The place wasn't even busy. I don't know where you typically drink cocktails or what your standards are, but my experience at Mas was the easiest 1 star I have ever offered anyone in my life. I live in the hutongs, frequent all the best bars and know all the best bartenders by name. They know me, my drinks and my expectations and I'll regularly and happily pay 500 to 1000 kuai for 2-3 people for high quality cocktails. You're only requirement seems to be that the alcohol is real.
