Review of The Georg
4

I finally made it down to the Georg for dinner last weekend, after hearing from everyone how amazing it was for weeks and weeks on end.

The food absolutely lived up to what everyone had said. I had the spinach, poached egg and pear as a starter, the langoustines as a second course, and then the tenderloin as a third. While all three dishes were all beautifully laid out and the taste was incredible, the tenderloin was an absolute favorite.

The service does still need some fine tuning. One example is that our coats were never taken from us, even though other tables did have their coats taken upon entry, and it was clear that we were holding bulky winter wear in our arms as we came in. On top of that, it took four times asking to get some ice water, with two seperate waiters coming to ask us if we wanted more sparkling water in the meantime. And also, while we were reading the menu, there was very little explanation of how the menu works and how many dishes should be ordered. Two tables near us that arrived after us received in-depth explanations that we were never privy to with our waitress. While these are all just small things, but when you're paying that amount of money for a meal you do expect to have no such issues. I hope that these small kinks in the service will get fixed with time.

Mostly though I can't wait to see what the future holds for the Georg, and I am excited to try out their brunch soon.
