Forgoing our usual Qmex, Let's Burger and Great Leap burger-fix locations, we decided to try Cannon's. Very disappointed - if a burger were RMB 20-30, then worth the occassional visit. 60+ for a burger and 30+ for a beer certainly overpriced.

I agree completely. Next time you visit any of these places, look at the bun. Makes a big difference. Cannon's uses a shitty bun. Hell, even GLB uses a shitty bun. Q Mex used to use a shitty bun. Now Q Mex has the best bun.

Q Mex and Katchup are my favorites. Never been to Let's.

Absolutely, bun is key. Let's Burger has "gourmet" buns and always been great in general. Haven't been to Katchup, will give it a try!

I disagree on the bun with Cannon’s burger, they actually bake them daily, it is more a question of bun style. Some like a more firm hard bun, and some prefer the juiciness of the burger to become part of the squishy bun. But you cannot compare the bun at GLB to Cannon’s there is a big difference in the quality. The burger at Butcher’s Club is dam good, but it is pricy using dry aged beef trimmings for the burger grind.

Katchup is near Jiaodaokou where I used to live. I walked past that place for a year before I decided to go in. I thought the name was stupid (it is), but the burgers are just insanely superior to 99% of the stuff out there.

If 10 people did a tasting comparison between Let's, Q, GLB and Katchup, probably Katchup would get 8 of the votes. When you compare the burgers side by side, probably katchup wins 8 times out of 10.

Try the Big Ben (classic burger) or Atomic (spicy take on the classic). I always get the latter. Plenty of other bigger and different burgers as well. But try one of those first.
