Try These: Xiu

The Park Hyatt declared its intention to sit atop Beijing’s bar vista with the opening of its China Bar last autumn. That wasn’t enough for them, so they’re back with a vertigo-friendlier bar. Xiu rests on the sixth floor – the rooftop – of an annex of the hotel.

A calming, water feature-laden terrace surrounds a traditional Chinese pavilion, which contains a large saloon, a wine room and a number of smaller lounges.

Signature cocktails cost RMB 70 but are of a quality expected at the price, while the rest of the drinks menu is made up of big-name liquors and wines. The terrace is the draw, but food, a live band and small fireplace turn up the heat indoors when the weather cools.
