Ready to Do it All - Club Le ZaZou

Occupying an expansive upstairs duplex at The Village, Le Zazou is ready to do it all, encompassing a dance club, lounge, and rooms for dining and private seating. The dance club room features minimal neon, a compact dance floor and comfortable booths, musically invoking Suzie Wong’s or a Gongti Xilu venue, while the lounge area, with its living-room seating, jazzy hip-hop soundtrack and stage for live shows, is a welcome addition to the neighborhood’s nightlife options.

The bar offers a selection of signature martinis, while Tiger Beer (RMB 30) highlights the beer options and mixed drinks go for RMB 40. For flashier partying, four types of Perrier-Jouet (from RMB 780) are offered. Chef Ludovic Robar’s menu expected to be unveiled this month.

Our review was written several weeks ago, and was based on a visit before Club Le ZaZou had officially opened, so there was no reference to the negative experiences of subsequent visitors [some of whom complained about negative experiences at the opening party, which is fair game but not really representative of an average night at Le ZaZou]. Still, we've been hearing numerous complaints about poor service at Le ZaZou, among other things - they'll have to sort out these problems quickly and get some decent promotion nights, ladies night etc, if the place is to build a reputation for itself and get off the ground

How come all the bad reviews of this place (for bad service) are ignored?

No idea. I went there once during their "soft opening" to a friends birthday and they had some flyers saying that vodka-based cocktails were free before 22h. But all the barmen were very reluctant to deliver the free drinks. And at some point they simply stopped! Apparently the owner was there and was unaware and unhappy with that idea from their marketing.

I understand that, BUT if you don't want to play ball, don't put out an ad like that.

Come play with the Panda, we are harmless animals.

i have folks coming to my bar, and all i have heard lately, is how sad the services is at this place.. i was chatting with beijing boyce the other day about his personal experience of this place and the bartenders pours and the cost of the sorry ass pours, and the attitude that come with it.. i like hitting up the clubs as much as the next junkie, but i am getting sick of hearing, reading how shitty this place is. i understand it is a great venue, but have a feeling that i would be throwing bricks if i went to this place.. suzy wongs is still the best. the hell with chocolate and the hell with le zazou. the growing club rage in beijing is really starting to spoil.. good luck to them all.

he's a real no where man.!
