Basic is best. Fancy and intricate dishes are great, but sometimes simple food can be just as indulgent and that is especially true with our next few categories. Pizzas covered in molten cheese, perfectly seared steaks, juicy burgers and delectable sandwiches make up our next batch of awards.
Pizza
Best: The Tree
"i love going to the Tree to get my Maredsous beer and pepperoni pizza!"
Outstanding: Kro’s Nest "Chicago-style deep dish - thick hearty slabs of greasy goodness, the way pizza should be done"
Outstanding: Gung Ho! Pizza "Gung Ho! has some really great pies. Innovative toppings, great crust (the whole wheat is nice), and friendly service"
Steak
Best: Mosto "The perfectly cooked main course steak usually causes food envy amongst those who didn’t order it"
Outstanding: Flamme "I will come back each time I'm in the mood for meat "
Outstanding: CRU Steakhouse, JW Marriott Beijing "I had the Boston lobster and my friend had the grilled steak. Both were presented with class and tasted heavenly"
Outstanding: SALT "even under the yummy sauce you could tell that the steak had been cooked perfectly"
Burger
Best: Let's Burger "With all the new burger places popping up around the city, this one is one of the best"
Outstanding: Blue Frog "Great burgers at this place – it definitely can rival any good burger place that I’ve had in America"
Outstanding:Fatburger "I enjoy my rare visits to Fatburger. The burger is tasty, the cheese is good, and all the stuff they put on it works well"
Sandwiches
Best: Element Fresh "Element Fresh one of the best restaurant in Village. A lot of variety of healthy salad and sandwiches"
Outstanding: Panino Teca "Low prices, quality filling sandwiches, delicious salads and a very nice desert menu"
Outstanding: Comptoirs de France "Chocolate croissants, various and sundry baked goods like apple tarts and madeleines, great sandwiches and awesome coffee"
