Capital Bites: Dine Early at Agua, New Brasserie Flo Now Open
From April 1, Agua is continuing their four-course, RMB 248 Restaurant Week menu for early evening reservations. You've got to reserve a time slot earlier than 6.30pm, and you've got to be finished by 7.30pm, but if you're not opposed to those time restrictions this is a great way of trying one of Beijing's top restaurants. That deal will be available seven days a week. Agua is also launching a new brunch menu from this weekend.
A new teahouse has just opened at 9 Doujiao Hutong, just along the road from Great Leap Brewing. It's in a courtyard and will be serving food from next week. With Italian restaurant Mercante recently launching in a courtyard space at Fangzhuanchang Hutong (and early reports on their food looking positive), you can expect the area around Great Leap Brewery to start attracting "new Nanluogu Xiang" speculation in the coming months. Even though it's quite near Nanluogu Xiang.
Brasserie Flo is now open at 18 Xiaoyun Lu. A colleague has already visited and tells me the restaurant has a classical look reminiscent of the old Flo at Rainbow Plaza, and as anticipated there's a bakery by the entrance. Business lunch is RMB 88 for two courses, RMB 118 for three.
