Regrets, He's Chad a Few

He's been described separately as unique (and cartoon characterish), a genius, instantly recognizable, as well as having potentially the finest aptronym in Beijing. He's been immortalised with his own sandwich, has an encyclopaedic knowledge of '80s music, and has won countless awards and nominations for various nightlife accolades in the city.

Beijing nightlife legend Chad Lager brings an end to his eight-year stay in the capital this month. Chad's had a hand in more bars than you might realise, and his farewell will certainly be met with sadness in some quarters.

Ever photogenic, we found a bunch of snaps of Chad down the years. Be it from our own Bar & Club Awards issues when Lager was a regular nominee for a raft of awards, featuring in our drink-related sections, or just pictures of Chad in various stages of insobriety, including a couple of the big man with his arse out.
