Classified of the Week: Gerundimo!
Beijing's diversity and Internet anonymity make for strange bedfellows. Nowhere is this more true than in our website's Classified Ads section. We've seen it all – and then some. And that doesn't even cover the ads we must disapprove because they just aren't fit for a good, clean, wholesome website like ours.
One thing you're sure to find plenty of is English teaching jobs. And contrary to snobby expat opinion, there is nothing wrong with teaching some kids how to pronounce "chaos" or "misled" correctly. That is, as long as you care about their education to know the difference between verbs and nouns – and are fairly competent with the application of gerunds (also know as -ing).
"English teachering," on the other hand, is something we seriously look down upon. Other constructions, such as "to teacher" and "was teachered," sound equally scary and we would advise avoiding them at all costs.
