Three Things for the Week Ahead in Beijing (Apr 28-May 4)

It's almost the May holiday, and there's plenty of fun to be had this coming week in the 'Jing. 

Listen – Easy Street at Modernista, Apr 30

If you want to kick off the May holiday with a bang, then head to Modernista to see Easy Street performing on Wednesday (Apr 30). This pop-rock band is comprised of vocalist Steven McKinney (Stevie Mac), keyboardist and vocalist Taylor Hartwell, drummer and vocalist Taylor Kelly, bass guitarist Timothy Chen, and lead guitarist Barry Allen. They'll be performing a range of hits and catchy tunes that are sure to get you up and dancing. Once they've finished, DJ Vincent Von Rock will keep the party going with some banging beats. Explore – History of the Hutong Walking Tour, May 1

Beijing Postcards will be putting on one of their History of the Hutong Walking Tours on Thursday (May 1) from 10am to 12.30pm. Through the guided tour, you'll find out about the 2,000-year history of these iconic alleyways as you explore them yourself from street level. The price of the tour is RMB 300 for adults and RMB 150 for children, and you can book by scanning the QR code below. If you're not able to make it on Thursday, they also have three other dates in May available.

Eat – the Beijinger's Taco Fest, May 3-4

We couldn't write about the week ahead without mentioning our upcoming Taco Fest! Taking place May 3-4 at the National Tennis Center by the west side of the Olympic Forest Park, this is going to be one taco-filled fiesta you don't want to miss! This year we've got 25+ vendors, including special guest from Shanghai La Coyota, great entertainment, market stalls and more fun. So, grab your amigos and get ready to eat as many tacos as you can!

Taco Fest will be taking place at the National Tennis Center West Square on May 3-4 from 11am to 8pm. Early bird tickets are RMB 20, and tickets at the door are RMB 30. You can purchase tickets by scanning the QR code in the poster above.
