Talking Pints: Passionate About Brazilians
If you were any measure of a man/woman/child then you'd be reading this blog on your phone with a pint in your hand given that today marked the beginning of the Munich Oktoberfest up at the Olympic Park. It started at 2pm and goes on until 11pm tonight. It also runs for the next two weeks. That's an obscene amount of sausage and sauerkraut, and loads of lederhosen, too. Get your towel down early tomorrow; the weather forecast is good.
We mentioned earlier this week how Cu Ju will be sailing for open waters before too long after a disagreement with their landlady. It's a pity, but Badr reckons they'll find somewhere new to dock before too long. I imagine we might know pretty quickly if something transpires*, and we'll be sure to let you know.
Apothecary is undergoing a facelift and is closed temporarily. They hope to reopen on September 15, and will have new food and drink menus when they do reopen.
Brazil Passion kicks off at 8pm tomorrow night (Sep 7). Expect a night of breakneck capoeira, sounds of samba, and maybe the odd caipirinha. Here are some moves that might come in handy.
Here are some of the highlights of this coming weekend:
- New Yorker Tim Sweeney will be deputising at Dada tonight (Sep 6).
- Sweden's Samuel L Session is on duty over at Lantern tonight, too.
- Get out to Genting Resort Secret Garden in Hebei tomorrow as Summer Sonic draws to a close. A free bus will get you there from Sanlitun if you fancy it.
- And for the Jianguomen massive, GT Banana celebrates its 15th Anniversary with a white party on Saturday (Sep 7).
- Zeta Bar at Hilton Beijing hosts their fifth Pole Dancing Competition from 9.30pm on Saturday night.
- The Bar at Migas will host another Housing the Bar night on Saturday, too. This time they invite Kai to deal the decks.

For no other reason than it might be the finest four minutes and 56 seconds ever produced, in any field, ever, (and because this forum post reminded me of its majesty) here's David Bowie to introduce our weekend tossing a toddler around in "Magic Dance"
Have a splendid weekend, won't you.
