Recently, a group of active local Beijing foodies, made up of more than 1,500 WeChat members and 150,000 Weibo followers, shared their top 20 dining spots in the city. Bean House 豆号
This Chinese chain features healthy drinks and soft serve that share the same ingredient: the bean. The Bean House promises their desserts contain no trans-fatty acids, preservatives or artificial coloring. Popular picks include soybean ice cream (RMB 5) and green tea ice cream (RMB 20). Marugame Seimen 丸龟制面
This favored Japanese udon chain has more than 600 locations in Japan, but wasn't in Beijing until around this time last year. Their fresh-made noodles in creamy broth are prepared in an open kitchen and were well received by our reviewer when the restaurant opened. Be prepared for lunch time crowds, though, as the small restauarant often has diners waiting for a table.

Du Hsiao Yueh 度小月
For those of you who just can't get enough of hot noodles in cold weather, you won't want to skip Du Hsiao Yueh, a household name in Taiwan for its danzaimian (peddler's noodles). Suzuki Kitchen 铃木食堂
Lovers of rabbits will embrace the decor in this low-key Japanese restaurant. Bunny knick knacks cover the shelves and counters, but it's the home-style food and cozy atmosphere that makes Suzuki Kitchen worth a visit. Popular dishes include curry chicken rice (RMB 25), beef hot pot (RMB 38) and Suzuki salad (RMB 30). Make sure to call ahead for dinner reservations.

Buli Buli Xinjiang Restaurant 布力布力
Buli Buli is one of very few authentic Xinjiang Restaurants located in a mall, staking its spot in We-Life Plaza. They make their naan fresh on site, so be sure to get some as a side order alongside favorite dishes like Big Plate Chicken (RMB 58).
