The Ice Bucket Challenge Comes to Beijing
Beijingers are dumping ice water on their heads.
No, it's not a hangover cure or an attempt to escape the heat of August. The Ice Bucket Challenge simply asks people to film themselves pouring a bucket of ice water over their head, and then challenging three more people to do the same, all to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), formerly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, "a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord," according to the ALS Association.
Kro Bauer, Marty Handley, and Zachary Lewison of Kro's Nest pizzeria decided to kick it off in Beijing:

Re: The Ice Bucket Challenge Comes to Beijing
Its to raise money and not awareness. If you dont donate money to ALS you just look like a bunch of D-bags wasting water in a water starved country....get it right or don't do it nor support it.

Re: The Ice Bucket Challenge Comes to Beijing
I think it would be an awesome idea if The Kros Nest set up a donation spot at their restaurants where Beijingers could leave some RMB for ALS research.

Re: The Ice Bucket Challenge Comes to Beijing
It's not just to raise awareness of ALS. Its main goal is to raise money for the research, and they've raised over $42 million.
I think it started as send $10 if you dumped the ice and $100 if you don't want to dump the ice on yourself.
So my question is did the guys/restaurants all send money?
