Know a Thing or Two About Beijing's Pizza Scene? We Could Use Your Two Cents

The nomination round in the Beijinger's 2014 Pizza Cup closes today (Monday), and we're seeking a handful of additional nominators to help us come up with the preliminary seedings before we release the main ballot next weekend.

You don't have to have an encyclopedic knowledge of Beijing's pizza scene to help but you do need to know your Tube Stations from your Kro's Nests, your Pizza Huts from your Origuses.

You should know your way around a yang rou chuan'r pie and may have even sampled the abomination that is pizza-in-a-cone.

Your opinion will be used to determine the field of 64 that will compete over the next month for the honor of the city's best pizza, as well as to categorize them and rank them, 1 to 64.

In addition to knowing what you like, you need to be unencumbered by any relationship with an operating pizza-slinging venue in Beijing that means you don't own one, invest in one, work at one, or even date/procreate with one of their owners/employees.

The other catch is that we need your opinion before the end of the day Tuesday.

If you are interested in giving us your two cents, send us an email with your full name, email, and some damn good reasons why you'd make a great nominator to info@truerun.com before the close of business Monday (Oct 13).

And don't forget next Saturday's Pizza Cup kickoff party the largest gathering of pizzas in 5,000 years of Chinese history. Most of the top-ranked pizza places will be there, along with a handful of newbies for you to try. You'll be able to taste them head-to-head, slice-to-slice, and wash it all down with plenty of beer as you mull over who serves the best 'za in town.

More details on Saturday's pizzafest can be found as they emerge here.
