Tonight: 3rd Festival of German Cinema in China

The Germans have an undeniably rich tradition in Cinema that dates back to the very beginning of the medium with filmmakers like Fritz Lang (Metropolis) and Walter Ruttmann (Berlin, Symphony of a City) and continue to produce material forefront of the medium with masterminds like Wim Wenders and Werner Herzog, just to name a couple.

This is just one of many reasons why we are very excited to welcome the 3rd Festival of German Cinema in China this weekend. Over the course of nine days (Nov 13-22), starting this evening, there will be screenings of recent works from contemporary directors pushing the medium into new directions. There will also be multiple Q&As and workshops at Goethe-Institut China and the Beijing Film Academy so that you can emerge yourself in the process and theory behind the films being shown.

Tonight's events will include an opening ceremony at Audi City (Oriental Plaza) at 6pm, followed by a screening of Victoria at 7.30pm, then a Q&A with Eike Frederik Schulz, one of the screenwriters for the film. Other films in the program include We Are Young. We Are Strong, Sanctuary, Who Am I- No System is Safe, and Labyrinth of Lies.
