EAT: New The Canteen Pop-Up at Jing-A, Pizza Cup Bargains, Arrow Factory Brewing's New Reuben Sandwich

We didn't really expect the Hatchery team to stay quiet for long following the closure of their physical location. The team has already launched a new concept called The Canteen, a lunch time pop-up at Jing-A, described by them as a "no-frills eatery where you can pick and choose from a colorful selection of creative salads, quiches, and sandwiches made fresh and rotated daily."

Offerings are available between 11.30am and 2.30pm Monday through Friday, with salads billed at RMB 12 per 100g, RMB 30 for sandwiches, and RMB 28 for pastries (although during the Mid-Autumn Festival The Canteen will be closed Thursday to Saturday and open on Sunday).

We went to check it out today, and the salads were tasty, fresh, and varied enough to keep you coming back through the pop-up. If you're working around the area, this is not only a filling lunch option, but also healthy and great-value. On top of that, we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely and bright Jing-A is during the day, and might even bring our laptops down next time to camp out a little longer (watch out Jing-A!).

Further north in Sanlitun, we went check out some of the offerings on Arrow Factory Brewing's new menu, and fell for their new Reuben sandwich. We didn't get a picture of it ourselves because it was basically devoured in seconds, but we highly recommend it; the corned beef, cheese, and sauerkraut merge into one deliciously warm gooey mess.

And finally, keep your eyes and ears open, as exclusive pizza deals are coming your way as of tomorrow (Sep 13). We've teamed up with pizzerias across the city to get you some of the best deals in town, so that you can sample Beijing's best pies and make an educated vote come election day.

Tickets are now on sale for our Oct 15-16 Pizza Fest at the Zaha Hadid-designed Wangjing Soho ... Tickets are limited so buy ahead to make sure you don't miss out! Click here to purchase!
