Join Gung Ho! for Beijing Earth Day Festival on April 22-23

This Earth Day, Gung Ho! Pizza, Patagonia, and One Percent for the Planet are making it easy for all Beijingers to do their little part to save the planet. Even if just for one day, here are three easy ways in which the organizers have made it simple for you to do a little something to give back to Mother Earth this year.

Firstly, following last year’s successful Earth Day Festival market, which included over 20 green business and NGO booths, this year the organizers are attempting to repeat what made it so great. This time around, over 40 booths will be in attendance, partnering with Cnature, a local environmental group, and the organic farmer's market Live Simply.

Expect lots of environmentally friendly, handmade items on offer, a keynote presentation from Gung Ho, a charity auction, a documentary screening and post-viewing Q&A organized by Patagonia, as well as kids’ activities and live music. Festivities will start off at noon, and go till 6pm, all at the Sanlitun Soho Patagonia store.

If you can’t make it down, one way that you can still do your part on Earth Day (and any other day, really) is by eating less meat. To encourage this, Gung Ho! Will have 50 percent off all their veggie items all day (both instore and delivery) come April 22.

Finally, the third way that you can help our generous planet is a little more hands-on: On April 23, from 8am, the Beijing Hikers will head out for their annual Great Wall clean-up hike. Attendees will head out to the Jiankou section of the wall, clean up as much trash as possible, before heading to a traditional courtyard residence for a Gung Ho-sponsored pizza lunch to bask in having done some much needed good for the environment.
