2019 Yunnan Culture Festival at Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace

On Sun, Jun 16, Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace will hold the 11th “In the Name of the Father: Yunnan Culture Festival.” During the festival, guests will be able to join bamboo dances and Songkran Water Festival festivities, offering a taste of the culture of the Dai ethnic minority from Yunnan. Guests can also feast on a buffet of authentic Yunnan cuisine featuring Xishuangbanna barbecue, Yunnan rice noodles, and Yunnan rice wine in an outdoor marquee.

The water festival happens every year during New Year on the Dai calendar in Xishuangbanna and Thailand, among other places in Asia. The celebration includes light-hearted rituals where everyone ends up getting splashed with water, which is a symbol of religious purity and goodwill.

As a representative of Yunnan culture in Beijing, Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace celebrates water festival every year during the Yunnan Culture Festival. Expect colorful Yunnan costumes and décor, as well as a celebratory atmosphere thanks to a series of cultural dances and a spread of authentic Yunnan cuisine.
