Chi Fan for Charity Gears up for Its 11th Year of Dining out for a Good Cause
Chi Fan for Charity, the annual cross-town event that brings together over 600 people to dine for charity, returns for its 11th year on Saturday, Nov 9.
Over 50 generous restaurants have agreed to serve up fantastic meals for the occasion – scroll down for a list of participating venues so far!
What is Chi Fan for Charity?
Fresh off the boat? Perhaps you're not aware of Chi Fan for Charity, or as we call it in shorthand, CFFC. It's a once-a-year Beijing tradition where 50-plus restaurants around the city donate tables of 10 for charity. Table hosts pay a per-head price for gourmet meals, and all of the proceeds go to a worthy cause.
The diners from across the city then gather at the legendary afterparty, where the bacchanalia continues and so does the charitable with even more money raised via generous lucky draws and a silent auction.
Last year over RMB 400,000 was raised for Educating Girls of Rural China, funds that sent more than a dozen underprivileged women off to university.
This year, our charity recipient is Bethel, a Beijing-based training center for blind and visually impaired children established in 2003. Since its founding has cared for over 300 kids and assisted with over 130 adoptions. You can read more about Bethel and the work they do here.
