Dec 1: Turn your kitchen waste into black gold
As we recently reported, Beijinger residents will soon be required to sort their household waste into four different categories, one of which is kitchen waste. Therefore, it's never been a better time to start composting, which is a great way to turn your kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich soil that you can use to feed your plants. If you think that composting is a stinky, messy affair, think again. Daniel Lim from Homegrown School (WeChat ID: dadan8) has mastered the art of indoor, apartment-friendly composting and will pass on his knowledge this Sunday in conjunction with Farm 2 Neighbors at The Grand Summit. The workshop fee includes afternoon tea and your own personal OwnMade Indoor Composting Kit. Better yet, if you miss this workshop, he will be hosting another one next Sunday. Add Erica from F2N (ID: ericaaah) to sign up. RMB 380 (includes composting kit). 2.30-4pm. Grand Summit
Until Dec 1: Wooden Ware Exhibition at Lost & Found
Lost & Found, the stylish furniture store located in Guozijian, is currently exhibiting works by Japanese wood artist Shinrin Takumi Juku. Conceived as "a love letter to wood," the exhibit demonstrates why Shinrin’s work is considered archetypal of wabi-sabi, the Japanese worldview and aesthetic that espouses the acceptance of transience and imperfection, and that has won over many followers around the world. Click here for more information. Free. 10.30am-7pm. Lost & Found
