Legend takes over Oh Yeah!'s space
One of last year's quieter closures due to the pandemic was Shuangjing's Oh Yeah! Brewing, which never reopened following the first Beijing lockdown. In a sad blow for the area, even in the short time that it had been open, the brewery had begun to put out some great beers, decent grub, and had barely begun to make the most of their absolutely massive warehouse-like space. Now, fans of craft beer and the venue itself may find at least a little solace in news that Legend Beer has taken over the expansive venue, albeit completely overhauling it into something altogether, well, more luxurious. From what we can tell, it's part cocktail bar, part beer lounge, and part KTV parlor AKA a little bit of everything. There's also a DJ at 9.30pm every night. Buy-two-get-one-free highballs at Superfly
Following on from their 50 percent off all sakes on Friday deal, The Opposite House's Superfly looks to slash prices elsewhere on the drinks menu. Head over on Thursdays, midday to close, and imbibe on buy-two-get-one-free on any of their six highballs, ranging from the Shisho Hi (Tantankan Shiso Shochu and water, RMB 58) to the Yuzu Hi (Yuzushu, shochu, and soda, RMB 100). BOGOF bloody marys at Slow Boat Maizidian
Many swear by bloody marys being the absolute best cure to a hangover. Boozy, savory, and chock-full of nutrients, it's hard to contest (unless that is you can't stomach tomato juice). What's even better, however, is the prospect of buy-one-get-one-free bloody marys, which is exactly what Slow Boat Maizidian is now serving on Saturday and Sundays with the purchase of any brunch menu item. In Slow Boat's words, they come "in a pint glass with a full garnish spread of cocktail onions, pickles, lemon, and tomatoes, she’ll make you forget last night’s transgressions."
