Wonderful Women of Wine Tasting at TRiO Wine Bar
Celebrate International Women’s Day on Saturday, Mar 5 – a few days before the holiday itself – at one of your favorite wine bars, TRiO. They've lined up three China-based sommeliers who will share 22 wines representing 18 female-run wineries from France, Italy, Germany, and China. Tickets are RMB 380, however, if you spend more than RMB 1,380 at the shop, your ticket fee is redeemable.
Slow Boat brings back a fan favorite
Oktoberfest came early this year! At 5.0 percent ABV the Zuckerzeit Helles makes a reappearance at all Slow Boat locations. The Helles style is a quintessential German lager, known for its clean and crisp flavor as well as its bright yellow color, hence the name Helles, which means bright. In this version, Slow Boat wanted to showcase the best parts of European malt in a simple yet complex way. Fermented with Munich Lager Yeast and Slow Boat’s own cultivated strain, this tipple will take you back to the days of good German beer.
Jing-A celebrates China's gold and releases new beers
The Beijing Winter Olympics are almost over, but it's not too late to make the most of the finals at Jing-A, where everyone gets a free beer anytime China wins a gold medal.
Plus, Jing-A is bringing out some fan favorites of its own, like the Hutong Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit. This Cascadian Dark Ale was originally brewed as a collaboration with Portland’s Boneyard Beer and is aggressively hopped with Pacific Northwest hops featuring a generous amount of ginger. At 9.0 percent ABV, it's a great way to keep warm during the waning days of winter.
Got post-Valentines blues? Jing-A is here to cure them with their release of Heart Breaker, a Fruited Sour IPA that flirts with your nose and dances on your tongue. The dank hops bring tropical fruit flavors, and the addition of peach and apricot brings a light tartness to balance the profile. Save me some napkins because my mouth is watering just typing this.
