June 2: Sake Sensei dinner at Hana
Back by popular demand, Hatsune founder Alan Wong and his Hatsune team will host this season’s Sake Sensei Dinner Party at Hana by Hatsune in China World Mall on June 2. Alongside a multi-course paired dinner menu, Alan will introduce a balanced and diverse range of four to five different types of quality sake. You will learn the meticulous process of brewing sake from rice and water and Alan-san will teach you how to smell and taste the subtle flavors so that you can more fully appreciate just how delicate and beautiful sake can be. Side Street closes for renovation until June 11
Side Street will be closed for renovations until June 11, with the aim of expanding to host twice the amount of people and open their space up for group bookings and private events. If you just can't live without those Burger Cup-winning burgers, you can still order from their takeout-only branch on Xiaoyunlu. More information in this WeChat post.
Summer specials at Moka Bros
Moka Bros is introducing a series of summer specials, featuring a new dish created by chefs Danial Urdaneta and Aming Liao every two weeks. The first of the summer specials is a fruit combo of roasted pork loin with grilled peaches and spicy sauce served over mashed potatoes (RMB 89). Available at all Moka Bros branches to eat in or via delivery platforms.
June 5/6: Vietnamese cooking class with Chef Quyen from Susu
Ever wished you could cook like the chefs at Susu? Well, now you can, with a cooking class led by their very own master chef, Quyen. Learn how to make fresh spring rolls, La Vong fish, and more, as well as Susu's signature Saigon Fizz cocktail. The class is priced at RMB 498, including food and free-fow drinks and cocktails, and there are sessions on both Saturday and Sunday, Jun 5-6. There are very limited places left in each of the classes, so scan the QR code in the event listing to book ASAP.
New Spanish restaurant Bobomia launches happy hour
If you haven't been down to check out new Spanish restaurant Bobomia yet, now is definitely the time, as they have just launch a series of happy hour deals. From 5.30-8pm, Sunday to Thursday, sangria and wines by the glass are buy-one-get-one-free and Spanish beer is buy one, get the second bottle half price. Alternatively, buy a bottle of wine and get 20 percent off all dishes.
