The Jing-A Empire Conquers Instreet With British-Style Sanyuanqiao Opening

Booze monsters and foodies rejoice! The Jing-A empire continues its capital expansion with a new venue in Sanyuanqiao. Now in its soft opening, Jing-A’s fourth installation is fully ready for business, drawing the masses to the up-and-coming and ever-developing InStreet area. F&B staples like Forno and Miam Miam have opened on the same street, and a new Susu is set to open soon, indicating a veritable flocking to this chill spot near Sanyuanqiao subway.

The grand opening this weekend will coincide with a month-long closure of Jing-A's Xingfucun location, so this new Instreet spot will make a perfect temporary substitute for regulars of that location.

Expect the classic Jing-A style of funky Beijing art mosaics and inviting reddish glow. Now pair that with a range of inside seating from plush brown booths to high tables to casual dining spaces. There’s even a shuffleboard folded into the mix for entertainment as well. For the more sunshine inclined, there’s abundant outside seating. Shading is also offered under nice umbrellas.

But that’s not the real draw for this new location. It may be significantly smaller than the other recent opening in the CBD area, but it's certainly bringing a distinct character to the table. The food menu is proudly British, delivering on a full range of English favorites, from chicken tikka masala to meat pies to London deli boards, fish and chips, and even a Sunday roast beef wellington! All very authentic with a “My Mom makes it like this at home!” tug on the heartstrings for Brits in this city. Naturally, the brand's wide selection of craft brews on tap awaits to wash it all down. The hawthorn smash is a particularly good one for the weather if you're looking for summer recs!

Of course, there are crowd-pleasers for the rest of us too. The stout double bacon cheeseburger is definitely a stand-out – in fact, it's a recreation of a popular burger that was once served at the Hatchery. Keep an eye peeled for it at the upcoming Burger Cup this summer! The apple pie dessert also hits the spot for a sweet finish. All portions are sharing size, ideal for going halfsies with a friend, or two or three.

For drinks, there is a long selection of caffeinated beverages to choose from. Many kinds of coffees, with oat and coconut milk options. Just as at the CBD location, this store is also partnering with local Beijing coffee roastery BigSmall Coffee to bring you a special collab. Then for those that prefer tea – there’s Rooibos! We tried the coconut rooibos latte and were very impressed! Several choices of hot chocolate blends also feature nicely in the “Not Coffee” section. (When the Xingfucun location returns, it will also be offering these coffees.)

All in all - we highly recommend the new JingA SYQ. But don’t take our word for it. Go check it out yourself. It’s a prime spot for day drinking the weekend away, or even a nice lunchtime break if you’re in the area. The British food is definitely an honorable mention!
