Joe's Pizza Coming to Beijing, Seasonal Pies & More Pizza News
Joe’s Pizza to Open New Branch in the Capital
Beijing is set to get New York pizza by the slice in the form of Joe’s Pizza – aka the pizza Spider-Man delivers in Spider-Man 2. While appearing in a Spider-Man movie might be its claim to fame, the pizzeria has called New York home since the early 1970s, and moved to Shanghai – it’s only international branch ‘til now – around 2017 (original Nanjing West Road Location pictured above). Now with three Shanghai branches under their belt, they’re making the move up north to Beijing.
The menu at Joe’s is as classic as it gets. Expect cheese, pepperoni, and other toppings on big round pizzas sold whole or by the slice. They’ve also got a pretty good Sicilian style pie on offer as well. But the folks behind Joe’s tell us there’s more in store at the Beijing branch, so keep your eyes peeled this summer for more.
Saporita Drops New Seasonal Pies
Purveyors of Roman pizza al taglio, Pizza Saporita, have recently debuted two new offerings for summer.
There’s the Rustica Affumicata (RMB 24/slice, RMB 108/round, pictured above), featuring thinly sliced potato, sausage, and mozzarella; and the Sfizioza (RMB 28/slice, RMB 118/round), which sees mozzarella paired with Parma ham and fresh basil.
Tube Station Opens in Shine Hills
Beijing’s biggest pizza has landed in Shunyi with a new branch in Shine Hills. Tube Station, the capital’s original New York style pizza joint, has been going strong since 1999 and they’re showing no signs of slowing down with this latest opening.

quote ` Saporita Drops New Seasonal Pies'
Now the Pollaks, (that was their name okay?) next door, half mile away, as it is in the countryside, had at one time a herd of around 20 cattle. Them cattle was dropping seasonal pies all over the place. Come wintertime, Pollak's pond was frozen, and should you be playing pickup hockey on pond, said pies, broken into manageable bits, were a sufficient replacement for the single hockey puck we owned, lost in snowbank edge of pond somewheres. Find it in the spring, maybe. If ya was a goalie, try not to get much of a shot in the mouth. Though must say, I have never heard of a cow called Saporita. That musta bin the D'Angelo's cow, couple roads over.

Re: Joe's Pizza Coming to Beijing, Seasonal Pies & More Pizza...
You're getting wood over a pizza joint comin' to Beijing, 'cause it was featured in Spider Man? Hey, cool. I used to eat canned spinach 'cause Pop-Eye loved the stuff and I loved Pop-Eye. Of course, I was four years old is all. But hey, enjoy your youth. Nothing wrong with an adult getting excited over Spidey. It's puerile, but nothing wrong.
Personally, about the only TV show I can stomach in China is 熊出没,which translates to I dunna what, ... `Bears Roaming the Woods' or something like that. As a kid I liked the Rocky and Bullwinkle show until my Mom decided it was Satanic, and couldn't watch it no more. Then it was the Smurfs, until my Mom..... (see above). Sigh. At least we --the whole cotton pickin family-- could together watch `the Wonderful World of Disney' of a Sunday night after our good wholesome roast beast Sunday dinner. Wholesome to the nth.
