Meet the Pizza Vendors Slinging Pies at Cheesy Pizza Fest 2023 Pt.1

This year, all we want for Christmas is slice after cheesy slice of pizza from Beijing’s best pizza makers, and we know just the place to get it: Cheesy Pizza Fest! It’s kicking off in just over a week’s time (Dec 9-10) inside Central Station at Langyuan Station so no, you won’t be freezing your butt off! 

We’ve assembled a great array of Beijing’s pizza purveyors some of whom have created exclusive and Christmas themed pies for you to enjoy, so let’s take a look at just who will be there!

Joe’s Pizza

Winners of this year’s Cheesy Pizza Cup, Joe’s Pizza will be serving their famous New York-style pies at the fest, including a special by-the-slice pie done up like a Christmas tree! They’ll also have a special deal on where if you spend over RMB 60 and follow either their WeChat or RED account you’ll get a limited edition POPSOCKET phone stand for free*! 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Pepperoni Pizza: Pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and homemade tomato sauce

Exclusive item(s):

  • Christmas Special Pizza: Green pepper, garlic spinach, powdered sugar and mascarpone cheese.

Gung Ho! 叫板! 比萨

Three time Cheesy Pizza Cup champions and last year’s third place winner Gung Ho! will be offering three different pizzas at the fest, including one brand new pie!

Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Lord of the Lambs: Roasted New Zealand lamb with tzatziki, grilled zucchini and fresh rocket.
  • Black Truffle: Eight kinds of mixed mushrooms with black truffle sauce and truffle oil.
  • Handmade Spicy Sausage (New): Handmade spicy sausage, onions, jalapeno and baby peppers.

Mulled wine

Tube Station Pizza 站点比萨

Home to “the biggest pizza in Beijing”, Tube Station will have a number of their New York-style pies up for grabs.

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Black Pepper Beef: Grilled black pepper marinated beef with mozzarella cheese, green, red and yellow peppers, and pizza sauce.
  • Bacon Cheeseburger: Burger sauce, ground beef, bacon, dill pickles, mozzarella cheese, honey mustard, and cherry tomatoes.
  • Pepperoni: Pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce.
  • Tube Station Special: Pepperoni, salami, Spanish black olives, pork, mushrooms, green, red and yellow peppers, onions, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce.

Exclusive item(s):

  • Mulled wine, plus buy any pizza and get a cup of mulled wine for free!

Great Leap Brewing 大跃啤酒

Great Leap Brewing will be bringing their big ol’ American-style pizzas along with plenty of their signature brews!

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • The Pepperoni: Pepperoni, parmesan cheese, and basil.
  • Brooklyn Supreme: House made sausage, pepperoni, shallots, black olives, red peppers, pickled peppers, and red chili flakes.

LA PLATEA 兰蒂地中海餐吧

Mediterranean restaurant LA PLATEA will be offering a variety of their unique Foccacia Pizzas along with a great selection of beers including limited "Speciale Noel" (Christmas Beers). 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Bufalina Foccacia Pizza: Buffalo mozzarella, mozzarella.
  • Ham & Mushrooms Foccacia Pizza: Ham, mushrooms, and mozzarella.
  • Diavola Foccacia Pizza: Salami, mozzarella.

Exclusive item(s):

  • Mortadella and Pistachio: Mortadella, pistachio, and mozzarella.
  • Zucchini Pesto: Zucchini, pesto, and mozzarella
  • Nutella: sweet pizza topped with Nutella

Pizza Saporita 意块披萨

Using pizza ingredients that are mostly imported from Italy Pizza Saporita will be serving their traditional Italian pizzas. 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Forest Pizza: Mozzarella cheese, mushrooms,  sausage, walnuts, and truffle cream.
  • Nutella Pizza: Ferrero Nutella chocolate cream and powdered sugar.

Georgia’s Feast 格鲁秀色

Georgia’s Feast will have their famous khachapuri, aka Georgian Pizza, along with Turkish Pide, aka Turksish Pizza, which patrons of their sister restaurant Turkish Feast will surely recognize. 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Adjarian Khachapuri: Stuffed with Sulguni cheese and a free range egg that are mixed together before serving.
  • Turkish Pide: Stuffed with a variety of toppings such as cheese, meat or vegetables.

PITMASTER PIZZA 本垒美式披萨

Inspired by Detroit's iconic pizza parlors and Texas's smokehouses, Pitmaster Pizza combines thick crust pizzas with a cheesy crispy crust topped with smoky barbecue meats. It's brought to you by Home Plate BBQ and will soon be launching on Meituan and JSS so keep an eye out for it! 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • The Pitmaster: Smoked USDA beef brisket, hand-pulled pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage, smoked chicken, Italian mozzarella, white cheddar, red sauce, and a drizzle of Texas heat BBQ sauce.

CARPACCIO 卡巴乔

Italian restaurant CARPACCIO is bringing their classic Italian pizzas, which are made with their signature thin, crispy crust. 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest: 

  • Spicy Beef Pizza: tomato sauce base, mozzarella cheese, and spicy beef seasoned with various herbs and special Sichuan spices.  

Exclusive item(s):

  • Italian-style mulled wine

Latina Brazilian Steakhouse Latina 巴西牛排馆

Never tried Brazilian barbecue joint Latina's pizzas? Now's the chance, as they'll be bringing two pizzas with them to Langyuan: an exclusive pizza featuring their grilled meats, and a vegetarian option for those who don't eat meat.

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Margherita Pizza: thin crust pizza with a thick layer of cheese paired with fresh basil leaves.

Exclusive item(s):

  • Christmas Black Truffle Pizza: Black truffle and beef.

Hi-Town Bistro 海塘 Bistro

Rather than serving their pizza as a traditional slice, Hi-Town Bistro will be serving up pizza “cones”.

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Beef & Shrimp Cheese Pizza: Rib eye, fresh shrimp, mozzarella, basil, black olive, and green beans.

Exclusive item(s):

  • Special Christmas themed coconut drink

VINN 维恩餐吧

VINN will be serving a range of different pizzas at the festival including one they’ve made exclusively for the fest and one that’s vegetarian.

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Black Truffle Pizza: Mixed mushrooms and cheese.
  • Beef Salted Egg Yolk Pizza: Steak, salted egg yolk, and cheese.

Exclusive item(s):

  • Smoked Salmon Arugula Pizza: Smoked salmon, arugula, and cheese.

Tofu OCN 一来东豆腐店

Tofu specialists Tofu OCN have created some delicious vegan and organic pizzas for the fest. 

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Pastoral Scenery Pizza: vegan cheese, vegan ham and organic shiitake mushrooms.

Prince Pizza

Perhaps the most unsual pizza at the Fest, Prince Pizza’s specialty is one that's coffee flavored. This special pie is made with a homemade coffee pizza sauce instead of marinara, and just so happens to be a favorite amongst customers. They’ll also have some alcoholic coffee drinks and warming winter drinks to enjoy too.

Recommended Pizza(s) at the Fest:

  • Coffee-Flavored Pizza: coffee flavored sauce, cheese, meat and vegetables.

  • Espresso Martini
