Dance school, bar, and nightclub are all combined into one at HOOD KIDZ LAB, an underground street dance and culture club founded by the renowned Hood Kidz Dance team right in the heart of Beijing’s CBD.

You might remember them if you attended the Beijinger’s recent Sausage Fest, where they took festivalgoers by storm with their original moves and choreography, showcasing the best of American street dance styles. They’re also one of the first hip-hop theatre crews in China, founded by artist Huang Yu Long and American dancer Ticky.

DanceFit at Hood Kidz Lab

Hood Kidz Lab is the Hood Kidz Team’s way of bringing their signature dance styles to the masses – with dance classes blending hip-hop, jazz, breaking, and house dance into a one of a kind experience dubbed DanceFit. Not only will students be taught authentic street dance techniques, but it’s open to everyone, dance enthusiasts and non-dancers alike, united by the beat and moving in unison on the floor.

Plus, it’s a good jumping off point to explore street dance culture, connecting with like-minded enthusiasts on a journey to, in the core spirit of hip-hop culture, “express themselves.” It goes beyond just a dance school, though, with things picking up each night when the studio transforms into…

Chill Lab

Chill Lab is also where the Hood Kidz host weekly events, chief among these being Cypher Nights.

Happening every night from Thursday to Sunday, channeling the dance cypher – one of the most essential gatherings of hip-hop, where people meet to freestyle dance. You can chill and watch or take part in the action: at Cypher Night, anyone can step up to bust a move.
