Sign Up for the 2024 Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest!
With the Beijinger's Hot & Spicy Fest happening next weekend, that can only mean one thing: our 13th Hot Chili Pepper Eating Competition is gearing up to go too!
Few have made it all the way through this contest, but those who can eat the hottest peppers are remembered by all. If you think you have what it takes to set your mouth aflame with heat and achieve chili eating glory, then it’s time to sign up today!
This year we're changing things up once again, with the competition being co-ed on both Jun 29 and 30. We're looking for a diverse group of participants, one person per country or province/municipality of China. The mixed competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 5pm sharp.
That being said, we've already received interest from more people than we can fit on stage... which means you'll need to prove yourself worthy of eating spicy. Here's what you'll need to do:
We'll need you to send us a short video of you consuming something spicy. The video must be:
- Vertical format
- High resolution
- No more than 20 seconds long
- Must include you stating
- Your name
- Your “fighting nickname”
- What country you are from (or if you are from China, what province/municipality you are from)
Videos not following the above format will not be accepted.
Creativity counts! The contestants with the most fun / entertaining videos will be selected for the contest.
The deadline for this is midnight, Monday, Jun 24!

The Venue
C7 Light Theater Outdoor Square is conveniently located in Universal Creative Park (UCP), just a stone’s throw north of 798 Arts District. UCP, formerly known as Beijing Panasonic Color Picture Tube Co., Ltd. is mostly made up of large industrial buildings that are relics from the '80s.
The park is an innovation hub for the integration of science and technology and culture, focusing on the introduction of five types of business formats: a cultural and art exhibition center, a cultural industry marketing settlement center, a film director creation center, an information media center and an international corporate culture expo center.

Hot & Spicy Fest will be taking place at 30 at C7 Light Theater Outdoor Square, in Universal Creative Park (UCP) from 11am-9pm, Jun 29-30. Early bird tickets are RMB 25, VIP tickets are RMB 130 and standard tickets (available at the door) are RMB 35 . You can purchase tickets by scanning the QR code in the poster above.
