It's been a while, but we're finally bringing back Sunday Board Games at The Local. 

Head upstairs on Sunday from 10:30am, bring your favorite game, and join the others for board games, brunch, and more.

We don't have many of our own games yet, so please bring yours so more people can join!

Brunch at The Local runs from 10:30am until 3pm. Our partner business The Grind offers coffee and espresso beverages, and our bar will be ready to serve cocktails in case you need a bloody mary, mimosa, or just want to get started early.

The Sunday Board Games event is free to join, but please help support us! We think you'll enjoy our food and drinks, and it also helps us continue to host events like this!

Sunday Board Games will be hosted every Sunday, except in some rare cases or odd holiday work weeks. We will make announcement and keep you updated!

If you’ve missed the chance to score tickets to the big German and British Christmas Markets happening this weekend – tickets for the latter sold out as of last week, in fact – there’s a new, low key alternative: the Gulou Christmas Market at The Factory.

Think of this as a Christmas Market but with the spunk and charm of the art and vintage markets that thrive in the depths of the Dongcheng hutongs, with kids' activities and a visit from “Chinese Santa Claus” for good measure.

And what creators there will be! With jewelry, digital art prints, original art, and more available for the taking. The recently opened Steamed Bun Comics will also be making an appearance at the event, with American comics and art by Chinese comic artists available for purchase.

We are inviting a true-born French natural wine addict, Mathieu Le Pape, to Beijing on this Friday, 1st Dec. He's bringing some interesting natural wines to takeover the bar. Don't miss out if you are a natural wine lover.
