Capital Caff: Take an Imaginary Trip to Warmer Climates at Cabo Coffee

Sanlitun Bar Street seems to have taken a toll on Cabo Coffee – with the shop that once brought a wholesome pick me up element to the area having quietly moved down south to Beijing Jie near Tiantan a few years back – adopting a permanent beachside vacation theme in the process.

Gone is the flower laden café that offered coffee to go from a small shop in Sanlitun. In its place: a space filled with dark greens, browns and grays, walls filled with beach photos, art and photo books, and ample outdoor beach chair seating.
 
On their promise of “Australian Style Latin Flavor” the shop delivers, and any fans of the original Cabo will be pleased to find their menu still intact. Expect plenty of Australian options, like their RMB 20 short black and RMB 30 long black, plus other items like the flat white (RMB 35) and plenty of pour-over drip options.

Gone are their options for cakes and other goodies, but Cabo still makes for a nice place to relax with a cup of coffee in hand – as if on vacation somewhere far away.
