Usain Bolt Set a World Record in Beijing, Fueled by McNuggets

In either the best endorsement for Olympic sponsor McDonald's ever, or the worst statement for good nutrition, world record-holding sprinter Usain Bolt has finally revealed his secret energy food: McNuggets.

The Jamaican speed demon said in his book Faster Than Lightning that over the course of the 10 days he spent in Beijing, Bolt ate at least 100 of the pressed chicken pieces per day, occasionally adding apple pies or fries for a bit of nutritional variety.

Bolt won three gold medals and broke three world records during his Olympic stay. According to McDonald's website, 20 pieces of Chicken McNuggets contain 940 calories, 530 from fat. That means that his daily 100-nugget bender would have given Bolt 3,700 calories, 2,650 of those calories from fat. Wow.

Bolt certainly enjoyed himself while in Beijing, having frequented night spots including the former China Doll when he wasn't at McDonald's.
