The Bookworm 10th Anniversary: Eight Days of Events Fit for Bibliophiles, Sep 19-26
Our favorite bookstore/restaurant/events space and more is celebrating its 10th birthday this month, with celebrations commencing on Saturday, September 19. The Bookworm has organized a little something for everybody; think flea market, game show, book talk, a journalism discussion, community gatherings, a whisky tasting, a keynote address, and finally, a live music party on the final day, September 26.
Here’s a rundown of all the events taking place (all at The Bookworm):
Saturday, Sep 19
12pm: Beijing Flea Market. Free to browse
8pm: China 10 Game Show, hosted by Kaiser Kuo. RMB 50, RMB 40 (members)
Sunday, Sep 20
12pm: Book sale, prices as low as RMB 5. Free
8pm: Bookworm Comedy Night headlined by Wil Sylvince. RMB 180, RMB 150 (advance)
Monday, Sep 21
7.30pm: Book Talk with James Bradley (Flags of our Fathers, The China Mirage). RMB 50, RMB 40 (members)
Tuesday, Sep 22
7pm: Community Poetry, a showcase of poets in Beijing. Free to browse
8pm: Storytelling, China 10 theme. Free
Wednesday, Sep 23
7.30pm: Live recording of the Sinica, hosted by Kaiser Kuo and David Moser. RMB 50, RMB 40 (members)
Thursday, Sep 24
7.30pm: China Journalism Panel, with reporters who have over 10 years of China experience. RMB 50, RMB 40 (members)
Friday, Sep 25
7pm: Whisky tasting (by reservation only, email anthony@beijingbookworm.com). Prices depend on your whisky selection
8pm: Keynote address, Chinese authors on expression and literature in China. RMB 50, RMB 40 (members)

9pm: Party with drinks and live music. Free entry
